It was originally distributed in segments via the Satellaview, but this version pieces all the sections together so it can be played in full in one sitting. As for the game itself, it is an official Zelda game released by Nintendo, and yet somehow also extremely obscure. This is the game I was running when I received the raid from SGDQ 2022, and chat was clamoring for me to submit it to the next GDQ, so here we go. NMS showcases most of the levels fully, while still having fun tech all around. NTS showcases the run without dialogue text obstructing the view for part of the run, but forgoes a very cool skip. The run is short and sweet, featuring plenty of fun tech of varying complexity. The game takes Noid on a 3D platforming adventure through a variety of pizza-themed stages which utilise the Noid's wallrunning and yo-yo grappling to the fullest. Yo! Noid 2 is the fan-made sequel to the NES Noid game.

Also is a really pretty looking hack with amazing graphics and awesome music Is a really cool romhack with a lot of interesting and eye catching mechanics and graphics, that shows really in depth how Super Mario World engine can be explored to create amazing things without any need of a lot of custom stuff. Ultimate changes a few things throughout the run from the original, mainly additions such as Tails Saves and 360 Laser, which open up new skips in addition to the ones in the original run.Įgg Shuttle acts as NG+ and goes through all of the main levels of the game without menuing or level select.Ī race between Zapplex and me of this SMW romhack focused in glitches and frame perfect tricks.

Colours is similar to other modern boost era games in design, fast-paced levels with a mix of 3d and 2d sections throughout. Sonic Colours: Ultimate is a re-release of the 2010 Wii game. Game Land is a short bonus world with stages based on classic sonic stage layouts. With Ultimate being a remaster of the original Wii game, giving us the new Tails saves or the 360 degrees laser, there are now even more flashy 3D in 2D tricks and skips.Įgg Shuttle is the NG+ mode of the game, getting rid of cutscenes, map traversal and loading times, as well as opening up new boost and wisp routes. Sonic Colours is a modern-boost-style Sonic game with a mix of 3D and 2D gameplay. Better graphics and new skips available in Ultimate await you :)Įgg Shuttle race between thebluemania, Subbaro, and Nyu.

Overall, a fun game and one I return to on a yearly basis, but not my favorite of the three character-driven PS2 platformer series especially with the direction the series took in later games. This boost Sonic game was recently remastered. Who thought standing around waiting for moving platforms would make for a good hub world? No way to identify Precursor Orbs you're missing like in Spyro 2 / 3. Experimenting in this game can be fun, I still remember the first time I discovered the roll - jump to get long distances, but it gets frustrating when you have to deal with the occasional ambush. While the boatloads of movement and combat options are appreciated, the game doesn't communicate them very well, though this is subjective. I can literally only play this game with un-inverted camera - the first time I tried playing this game it was a nightmare. Atmospheric sound and visuals throughout the entire game. Just the right amount of depth at the end with the revelation that the only way Daxter can be changed back to human is by confronting those responsible for Dark Eco as well, too. The story is simple and doesn't really need to be anything more than that. Also love the "serious, but not *that* serious" tone of the game. well, everything, demonstrate this perfectly.

Forbidden Jungle's blue eco temple and Lost Precursor City's. Every level feels connected, a feat that not many games even today have been able to accomplish. As a massive fan of Spyro-styled collectathons this game nails that vibe. Lots of varied movement options as well, though this leads to a separate problem in Cons. The combat works surprisingly well and I can see why they went in that direction fully for the sequel. Hey, a game I like quite a bit! Though I still have my gripes with it, this was a game I discovered recently (I never played it as a kid - I only had a GameCube) and mostly enjoyed.
